Road to afterlife

The Forgotten Railways is a challenge dungeon that can be entered from the Grand Central station dungeon in Sonata.

There is no cooldown or daily/weekly limits on how many trains a player can take the voyage, as long as they pay the prices.

it's an instanced location that comes in 4 versions and allows players to fight waves of monsters and see how far they can push it.

It's a modernized take from the Endless Tower in regular RO, with improved design and themes.

Required minimum level is Lv50.

Lore

The Forgotten Railways were once the main way of taking the people out of Orchestria and to the rest of the world, however, strange things happened since The Madness.

The train is unmanned but somehow always ready to depart. Talks of the few who boarded it mention that it would grow colder the further it went, and if you were killed inside it, instead of taking you to the afterlife, it would just dump you back outside the station while mentioning its not your time yet.

There is no known path out of or into Orchestria. All known paths cause the person to get lost and just get back where they started, Some sages believe the railways may have the answer to this.

The Railways Experiences

Once you get to the Station, you choose a Cabin and a Voyage of your choice:

Forgotten Railway Options
Cabin Options Voyage Options
  • Private Cabin: Exclusive to solo players. Less monsters per car, smaller cars. Same experience for all jobs.

    – Price: 25.000z

  • Group Cabin: Exclusive to parties of up to 6 players. More monsters per car, larger cars.

    – Price: 250.000z (paid by the party leader for everyone)

  • Economy Class: Monsters spawned will be random. This includes some specific rare monsters.

    – Standard Price

  • First Class: Monsters follow a set progression. This includes different rare monsters.

    – Price is doubled

Additional Information
  • If a player disconnects or leaves during the Railways, they will be found on the Broken Car. They can decide to go back to their party location (if still inside) or leave the train entirely. They cannot return if they leave this location for any reason.
  • There is a time limit of 2 Hours per Voyage.

The Voyage

  • 1. The Voyage consists of sequences of 10 cars. Players will start at the back of the train and need to move up as they clear each car.
  • 2. When they reach the front, a special wave shows up, prompting them to a more challenging fight. If they win, they will be dropped at a station.
  • 3. Stations are locations players can heal up, refill vials, access storage or change equipment pieces. Once they are ready, the leader should "tell the train" they are ready to continue The Voyage.
  • 4. They will board the next train from the last car, and need to once again clear the cars as they move forward, to then get to the next station.
  • 5. Steps above repeat until they reach the end of the voyage or are defeated. There is no known length of voyages.

Rewards

  • Completing sections awards currency to everyone, which can be exchanged at the station, including unique Garment costumes.
  • Monsters have all their drops and materials as loot.
  • Rare monsters that can only be found in the Train also spawn in specific cases.
  • There supposedly is a final station.... The train needs to stop somewhere right?

Leaderboards

Leaderboards are planned, with completion(?) time, furthest voyage reached, job used (for solo), party names, and so on. This will be analyzed near launch.
