Cards

From Orchestria Wiki

Collectible and Ready to Use

Cards are a strong piece of the gearing process in vanilla RO, and it isn't different in Luna Obscura.

The Key differences are:

  • Cards in Luna Obscura have a very reasonable drop rate. averaging 1 to 3% with bosses having up to 5% drop rates. This is because for such a customizable system, it being acessible and reward experimentation is important.
  • Cards can be removed at any time from the "Unslot" button on the equipment window. This has no cost and can be done anytime in a safe zone.
  • Cards come in multiple variations and versions.

Every card in Luna Obscura also has it's own art design. There are also special versions of certain cards with alternate art (and effects).

Note: Some card arts and text ingame may depict nudity, violence and other levels of NSFW to match what they represent ingame, this is not done for gratuity or fan service, keep it in mind.

Types of Cards

They are not meant to be a mix of useless and ultra-rare pieces, but one extra customization layer on your character progression.

Cards come in a few varieties, described more in-depth in the proper sections, but they can be divided in 5 types:

  • Monster Cards: Obtained by killing monsters, usually with 3% drop rate.
  • Area Cards: Obtained by completing area quests or as very rare drops. They have alternate, thematic version of cards from the area and a special art.
  • Foil Cards: Ultra rare cards with alternate art and effects compared to the monster cards. They have varied conditions to be obtained.
  • Boss Cards: Always equipped on the Badge, they have unique effects not found on other cards. They average a 5% drop rate.
  • Arcana Cards: They also have their own subtypes in Regular, Reversed and Occult, but are limited to Stigmatas.

Monster Cards

Cards obtained from regular monsters, they can be equipped on any item from the primary tab, except on Badges.

These cards have indicators of what equipment they can be used on, and can be removed anytime.

  • Obtained From: Drop from monsters, on a chance between 1 to 3% depending on the monster.

Area Cards

Special cards for some areas, they can be obtained by collecting other cards or by completing a specific quest. Their artwork feature multiple monsters from the area.

Area cards may have combo effects with other cards, and may provide an extra push on specific criteria

  • Obtained From: Rare drop from monsters (Sub 1%) when available, area quests, rewards for specific items, and so on. Varies according to location.

Foil Cards

Extra special cards with special conditions to be obtained. They provide alternate effects, but similar to the original version. (Example, a given card increases HP by 500, the foil version increases by HP as a percentage instead.)

Foil Cards are the rarest cards in the game and having any amount of those means extreme luck or dedication.

  • Obtained From: Specific chain of events, ultra low drops (lower than 0.1%) or unique interactions. Details are not provided.
  • Foil Cards usually depict alternate conditions or situations for monsters of the area.

Boss Cards

Unique cards with special effects, they are always equipped on the Badge slot.

Bosses include roaming bosses from areas, Maidens/Voices and any other notable enemy with unique situations.

  • Obtained From: Boss drops, usually from 3 to 5%, with Maidens and Voices having their own cards, with multiple versions in some cases.

Arcana Cards

Unique cards themed around specific concepts. There is one card for each major arcana and any card can be equipped on any slot.

Unlike monster cards, these are found through quests, sold by shops or other ways.

There are some specific rules and limitations in regards to Arcana Cards, detailed below:

  • Arcana Cards can only be slotted to Stigmatas.
  • Arcana Cards cannot be removed once added to an item.
  • Arcana Cards of the same number/name do not stack, wearing multiple versions or copies of a card makes them not work.

Each Arcana has 3 versions: Regular, Occult and Reversed, which do not stack among themselves and provide different bonuses.

Occult and Reversed Arcana cards are rare variations of the regular ones.
