Exploration

From Orchestria Wiki

A Large World to be Explored

The World of Luna Obscura is very dense, where secrets and details can be found in many locations. For this reason, there are plenty of tools to be used to make exploration easier.

But making it easy is not enough, as having something to actually find is much more important. Below you can see all the details on options you have for exploration, and what the world presents to you.

Greymap and GRF edits

While these are allowed on the server, they are not supported (and may be frowned upon by the staff). If you make any modifications to your GRF you assume all risks.

This also includes missing out on content. Both in regards to the unique map visuals, themes and eye candy, as well as quests itself that may require map details and objects for guidance... which no longer exist due to a graymap grf.

It's STRONGLY recommended to not make any alterations to maps or game files, and any requirements on special conditions, physical limitations or performance can be directed to the staff.

Player Exploration Tools

As a player, you have a wide variety of ways you can make your life easier, or at least a bit more convenient.

Movement Speed

Movement speed in Luna Obscura is increased vs vanilla RO. Not only that, but you can increase it further with items and stats. You also have access to the Dash skill, which increases it outside combat.

Return Skill

This skill is available to all players who changed into 1st Job and visited Nocturne's City Hall. This allows you to return to the Cathedral, go directly to Nocturne or to your current Save Point. It has a very small zeny cost and can be used anywhere, anytime.

Leonard Fast Travel

Leonard can be found in the Cathedral of Blades, all safe zones and some select places. These can be used to quickly come and go to different locations. Note that you need to unlock each location first before he can be used for it.

World Exploration Rewards

Anomalies provide unique rewards. They can be costumes, specific loot with different random options, a different item or just make the area easier or better to farm.

Dungeon Shortcuts

These can be found in most dungeons, sometimes with requirements and allow you to quickly travel through locations in a dungeon. It can be a small door, a hole on the wall... or a variety of other things.

They tend to have a small cast time to be used, or require having dash active in order to not be used during combat too (With exceptions).

Leonard Hidden Paths

Leonard won't mind taking you closer to specific locations... provided you find him a safe path that he can use, and cover the extra... "resources" required for it. This allows you to quickly reach dungeons when inside Grand Dungeons, but Leonard won't ever offer those services if you can't do your part too.

Area Investigation

Usually done through Sage Reports for every dungeon, some specific locations may have another small investigation to be done. These will require attention to the place and what happened, connecting pieces and information to understand the situation. In these cases, guidance is either not provided or very small, and can provide specific, small rewards.

Hidden Key

Some places have a door. which requires a key. Which opens said door... what's behind the door? How to get said key? That's up to be found ingame.
